Heather is on the Road, via Instagram =)

Heather asked me to post these pics of her while she is out and about.  Who doesn't love a good Instagram post! Plus, we love all you bloggers out there =)

Heather and Bryan heading out for a great road adventure. 12 hrs in the car Friday, Saturday wedding, 12 hrs in the car Sunday. Typically when Heather is off and on a vaca I get jealous, but this time.....not so much.

Luckily, they brought some healthy snacks.

Not too many things beat bananas covered in peanut butter. Delish.

Traffic on the way.... Has anyone seen Star Trek? Can Scottie please beam you up. That looks miserable.

Finally! Arriving at the hotel just in time to see this cutie pie. That Oreo cookie looks way to delicious. I may have to add them to my grocery list.

One thing I am jealous of is this Fro Yo stop.  Looks Amazing.

Here is Heather in all her posing glory getting ready to head out for a run. Some of the best runs happen while on vacation.

We miss you Heath. Take it easy, enjoy your time away and then drive home safe!  Love, Jen

Anyone else traveling this weekend?

What is the worst part of traveling for you?
-For me the actual traveling part is the worst. I have no patience for traffic, delays, and air terrorists.  Gives me anxiety.

Anyone else indulge in some Fro Yo Lately?
Me, not for a few days... I might have to make it a treat tonight =)

Wy

This week I am spending time in Wyoming with my family. It is my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary and that is a reason to all be together and party!! While I have been here we have been able to river raft, attend the Cody nightly rodeo, ride 4wheelers and explore the west. It has been so much fun. I love coming out here and always leave wishing I owned a ranch at the bottom of the Tetons. It is such pretty country out here.

The night we went to the rodeo my grandma busted out her cowboy hat for me to wear!
I happily obliged :) Love you grandma!

I have been able to get in some running this week. Before I left Monday I rode my bike and ran 3 miles along with a strength workout. Tuesday I drove to Wyoming so no running. But Wednesday I went 6 miles and Thursday I went 9. Today I woke up early and took my dad on a run/walk for 3 miles and we had soo much fun. LOVE YOU DAD. I did a short strength session when we got back to the hotel.

So thats what's going on with me this week. I'll be back this weekend and ready to talk about my upcoming marathon training that starts in 1.5 weeks!

Happy Running -jen

Plenty of both

One way to remove guilt from a vacation is to be sure to keep moving. For us, working out is an essential part of the vacation experience.  BUT, you just need to keep it in perspective.  Don't try to follow some strenuous training plan. Don't try to keep up with what you usually do because it is still a vacation.

Below we found a basketball court and did triceps push-up and frog hops. Sarah also led us in some of her Tracy Anderson stuff.  Felt good =)

Then after we were finished, we recovered doing this! =)

On another day we hit the treadmill.  Which was very interesting.  Try doing 10x400's fast while the boat is moving up and down.  The workout facility was located on floor 9 in the front of the ship. So every time there was any "motion in the ocean", which was always.... you for sure felt it in the gym.   So I ended up using new muscles to try to keep myself balanced on the treadmill at fast speeds.  It was a BLAST and kinda scary, but totally worth it. My quads and hamstrings were slightly sore the next day. =)

Then of course, after our run we recovered doing this....

Food, Food, Food! We LOVE food. (I realize there isn't much food in the picture, but I assure you that is because we had just finished a few trips to the buffet and polished off our desserts, Yum)

Moral of the story is, while on vacation working in little workouts will make the lazy sleeping, eating times that much funner.  I LOVE VACATION!
