Rest Day

I am running 15-19 today depending on how I feel.  These pictures are from my rest day yesturday.  This is how is went...
Woke up and ate cottage cheese with tons of cinnamon and had a Emergen-C packet.  Never can have enough Vitamin C.


In order to stay hydrated today I drink TONS of water on my rest day before any long run.  Finished this bad boy before I even got ready for the day


I had a day of running around so I always pack some snacks.  This is what I chose today. Water, dark chocolates, protein bar, almonds and some animal crackers. 


Lunch was super good.  I was just going to have an egg with some toast since that is what I was making for George.  But my mom had some greens so I put my egg on top of them with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese.  It was super good.  No dressing even needed


I broke into these  about 2pm.... and yes I drive the Swagger Wagon and I love it.


My husband is across the pond all week so we just do things when we feel like it.  The kids were super hungry after school so instead of a snack we headed over to smash burger.  It was good.  I needed something like that before my run.


My girls had dance so after I picked one and dropped one off we headed over to the park to let the kids burn some energy.  And since Jen can do a pull-up I thought I would give one a try.  They are hard.   And I was getting some weird looks by all the kids that were trying to cross the monkeys bars.


Second Attempt


In order to keep my legs resting for my run but wanted to get my kids super tired so they would go to bed nice and early when we got done at the park they hopped in the pool.  


Before bed snack some frozen yogurt with bananas, granola and a few mini chocolate chips.

  1. Yay rest day. Reminded me that it is time to keep drinking today on my rest day (which is today). Hope your run goes well...hmm what is my favorite thing on rest days? Good question, i have to think on that..

  2. haha! I love the pics! I am really terrible at pull-ups...like really terrible!

    Rest days I love to eat lots of PB...really thats every day but for some reason on rest days I eat even more. I also love to just relax and spend time with my crazy pup :)

  4. Perfect rest day...I like to sit on the couch on my rest days haha And like Julia I always seem to eat more on them too!

    I can barely do one pull up and then I am so sore the next day I can't do anymore for like a week :-)

  5. I love all your packed snacks for the day! I always carry around bars and ziploc bags full of food and people look at me like I'm crazy. Glad I'm not the only one!!

  6. Today was my rest day. I spent the morning/afternoon wandering around a garden store, fantasizing about having a big, beautiful yard!! And I ate blueberry and coconut frozen yogurt with blueberries and graham crackers!

    Love me a rest day!! :-)
